What is Wood Badge?

Wood Badge for the 21st Century is the premier leadership training program for all adult Scout Leaders, regardless of their primary program level. The course focuses on leadership, team development and application of good people skills—all valuable characteristics for your Scouting, professional and personal life. Scouting's value-based approach is an integral part of the Wood Badge experience.

In 2008, the Chester County Council will again partner with Pennsylvania Dutch Council to bring this premier training program to south central Pennsylvania. The practical portion of the training will be held on two weekends, one Friday through Sunday and the other Saturday through Monday. Following the practical portion, participants will have 18 months to demonstrate their mastery of the skills they learned by working their "ticket" and completing their Wood Badge.

The Boy Scouts of America divide the Nation into regions and areas. We are in the Northeast (NE) region four (IV). And we will host the 198th Wood Badge course in this region. Aren't you glad you asked?
